Summer Camp Week 2 will be from June 13 thru June 19, 2010
We gather at the shopping center parking lot at 11:30 AM on June 13th and return
to the SAME parking lot around the same time on Saturday, June 20th.

SCOUT CAMP GENERAL REGISTRATION FEE - $185.00 early-bird registration fee - $210.00 if received
at the scout center after April 26, 2010. (That means you need to have it to the troop at least
a week BEFORE that deadline so we can get it to the Scout Center by the deadline.)

While full payment to the troop as soon as possible is appreciated, Scout camp registration
fees are allowed to be paid in installments as follows. These dates are the dates that the
installments must be at the scout office, so it is best if you get them to us at least a
week before the posted deadlines.) Registration Installment Plan - First $75.00 should be
received at scout office by March 6th, Second $75.00 should be received at the scout office
by April 3rd and the balance should be received at the scout office by May 1. Scouts paying
last registration installment after May 1st will pay full fee and not the Early Bird Fee.
Also, a $25.00 late fees will be assessed to all balances not paid in full by the troop
pre-camp meeting (June 4th for us).

(C.O.P.E. and MOUNTAIN MAN TREK are special week-long educational programs that require
slightly higher registration fees. See the the leader guide for an explanation of
those registration fees.)

ADULT LEADERS GENERAL REGISTRATION FEE - First Adult Leader is FREE.
All other adults pay $65.00 each - The fee for adults goes to $75.00 after May 1st.
(NOTE: They have reduced the number of free adults from two to one this year.
Typically, we simply take the total cost for all adults and divide it by the number
of adults going, thus distributing the free adult fee across the group of all adults
going to camp. This makes the fee slightly under $65.00 per person, depending on
how many are going. However, note that there is also a "late fee" for adults this year.
We need to get an accurate headcount for adults by the last week in April this year too.
As you can see, the historic reduced fee structure for adults has been significantly
diminished this year. We also need to be a bit more accurate in our head counts
because the cost is higher.) Those adults who will be going in and out throughout
the week may continue to pay a daily fee at the Admin Bldg as they check in.
This fee is based upon the number of meals you plan to eat each day you are there.
(I believe it is actually cheaper to pay the full week's fee if you will be driving
in more than 4 days and plan to eat all three meals each day you drive in.)

Note that most merit badge workshops and some special educational programs have additional
fees as well. Once it is determined which merit badge workshops you get, please pay these
additional fees to the troop before leaving for camp. You should know which merit badge
workshops you get by the June 8th troop meeting. These fees are explained in detail in the
Leader's Guide (page 6) available on our Troop Website (http://www.bsatroop506.org/).
Go to the website and click on the link to Summer Camp, and
click on the Camp Buck Toms 2009 Leader Guide link for further information about additional fees.
New scouts just joining our troop this summer will all participate in the Dan Beard Program.
There are no additional fees (merit badge fees, etc.) to pay for those participating in the
Dan Beard Program.

(Our pre-camp meeting is at the scout center at 7:00 PM on June 4, 2009. SM should come
prepared to pay any outstanding registration fees at this meeting to avoid late fees. Note,
Merit Badge workshop fees and other "non-registration" fees will be paid by troop check no
later than Monday morning of camp at the Admin Bldg. Scouts must pay their additional merit
badge fees to the troop treasurer before leaving the parking lot on June 14th.)

This should answer most questions about camp registration. Again, get your registrations
in early. The longer you wait, the less likely you will get your first choices in merit badge
workshops. Registration forms and merit badge information sheets are available in the leader
guide referenced above (Page 31 for merit badge schedule and Appendix H for
the registration form.)
